CME Accreditation Information

Outcome Objectives

  • Interview patients in Spanish in a culturally appropriate manner.
  • Take a simple medical history, conduct a physical exam, give prescriptions & follow up instructions, and intervene with medical emergencies in the Spanish language.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of cultural sensitivity and competency in order to identify and address "culture-bound symptoms," leading to a stronger physician/patient bond, improved communication, and a higher level of healthcare compliance.

 

 

 

Accreditation / Credit Designation Statement

 This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson and Rios Associates. The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson designates this live activity for a maximum of 45 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Assessment Information & CME Credit

There are 15 chapters, thus 15 exams. Each chapter exam is the equivalent of 3 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. You simply study a chapter, then fill out the corresponding exam(s), all at your own time, location, and convenience.

Each exam consists of 15 questions.

Once the exams are received, reviewed, and graded, with a minimum of 70% correct responses, you will receive 3 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ per exam (45 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ for all 15 exams).

We will issue a certificate electronically to the email address provided in your registration form.

You are allowed to re-attempt the exams if you do not pass.

There are 2 ways to submit the exams:

  1. For the offline self-study course, download the exams from the link we provide in the welcome email once you register. The exams can be completed and submitted electronically.
  2. For the online self-study course, the course exams can be accessed, completed and submitted electronically on our online platform. You will receive your login information to access our online platform in the welcome email once you register.
