Rios Associates has been teaching Accredited CME Medical Spanish and Cultural Awareness Courses since 1983, in both the United States and Mexico.
We are now offering a Medical Spanish Self-Study Program based on our McGraw-Hill’s Complete Medical Spanish text & workbook along with our Audio USB which includes up to 45 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
We are delighted to share that we have expanded our Self-Study program to an online platform as well, thus, offering a variety of learning forums, ranging from offline (Book, audio USB and CME credit exams) to an online one (Book, Audio USB, Online Guided Video Tutorials, Online Flash Cards, Online Quizzes, Online CME exams and Online Personalized One-On-One lessons with one of our instructors).

All packages include our Complete Medical Spanish 4th edition textbook and corresponding Audio USB, as well as up to 15 CME exams. A hard copy of your materials will be shipped to your mailing address within 2-4 days of purchase. You will receive the exams and filing instructions required to receive your CME credits via email once your order has been submitted.
You study at your own pace and can take an exam after each chapter/lesson. There are 15 chapters, thus 15 exams. Each chapter exam is the equivalent of 3 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. You simply study a chapter, then fill out the corresponding exam(s), all at your own time, location, and convenience.
Once the exams are received, reviewed, and graded, with a minimum of 70% correct responses, you will receive 3 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ per exam (45 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ for all 15 exams).
Our program is designed for medical professionals who wish to communicate effectively with their Spanish-speaking patients. It introduces the language in a clear and accessible manner within the context of typical medical situations.
In addition, we include a comprehensive Chapter on cultural awareness.
This program will enable you to:
*Build and improve skills in interviewing patients, assess their chief complaints, take their history, conduct a physical exam and neurological exam, among many others, as well as give medication and follow-up instructions
*Recognize a Spanish vocabulary of up to 3,500 general and medical terms.
*Formulate free-flowing speech using verbs in the present, future, past, conditional, and advanced compound tenses, as well as the command forms and all the tenses in the subjunctive mood.
*Develop cultural awareness concerning time, personal space, traditional foods, and family dynamics as well as attitudes relating to health and medical care.
