CME Accreditation Information

Outcome Objectives

  • Interview patients in Spanish in a culturally appropriate manner.
  • Take a simple medical history, conduct a physical exam, give prescriptions & follow up instructions, and intervene with medical emergencies in the Spanish language.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of cultural sensitivity and competency in order to identify and address "culture-bound symptoms," leading to a stronger physician/patient bond, improved communication, and a higher level of healthcare compliance.

 This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson and Rios Associates. The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

For the 4-Day live courses (in-person and online course): This activity is designated for a maximum of 45 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ .

This activity is also approved for a maximum of 45 ACEP Category 1 credits and a maximum of 45 AAFP Prescribed credits.

    

For the 2-Day live courses (online course):  This activity is designated for a maximum of 14 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™    

 

Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

After successfully attending/completing the course, we will issue a certificate for the hours attended.
